1. BACKGROUND TO THE ASSIGNMENT:
Provide brief background to project and how it aligns to International Medical Corps objectives and priorities.
IMC supports integrated programs in 25 countries worldwide, ranging from primary and secondary health care to emergency preparedness and response, to specialized services such as dialysis and trauma care. At the core of these programs is capacity building to improve quality of services for beneficiaries, and build resilience among health care workers, non-health professionals, and the community.
As part of these efforts and in line with IMC’s Operational Framework to enhance the impact of our programs, IMC is engaging instructors from of multiple backgrounds to travel to IMC country missions, temporary programs, and emergency responses to provide clinical and non-clinical training as needed depending on the context.
Locations are identified by the ERU programs and technical teams based on needs, security level/access to health facilities, and non-restrictive visa policies. Instructors are matched with countries based on their respective aptitudes and country needs.
This multifaceted training program incorporates multiple different clinical and facility-based courses and is being delivered as part of International Medical Corps’ emergency preparation capacity-building efforts for country missions. This training has been requested by the IMC Chad Country mission to be for the benefit of local staff, partners, and host-government employees; and will be delivered in the winter of 2026.
